Pennsylvania State University was established in 1855 as a non-profit flagship public higher education. Penn State University is located in University Park, Pennsylvania, United States. Pennsylvania State University is also known as Peen State University and PSU.


PSU is one of the largest university in the US with public flagship, state grant, space grant, land grant, research intensive and sea grant. Penn State University has offered undergraduate, professional, graduate and continuing education programs. PSU also has Dickson Law School Penn State law schools.

The student’s enrollment in Penn State University is over 45,000 annually including graduate and undergraduate students. The total enrollment in University's 24 campuses is about 97,000 students. According to the PSU, university offers above 160 majors’ course under 24 campus. PSU also allocated about $800 million in fiscal year 2014/15. There are 97,494 students consist 83,436 undergraduate students and 14,058 Postgraduates students in 2015. The total budget of university is $4.9 billion and Endowment is $3.64 billion in 2015.  

There are 24 Campuses under University Park and 14 districts colleges including Smeal College of Business, Schreyer Honors College Graduate School, Eberly College of Science, College of the Liberal Arts, College of Nursing, College of Information Sciences and Technology, College of Health and Human Development, College of Engineering, College of Education, College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, College of Communications, College of Arts and Architecture and College of Agricultural Sciences.

Penn State University has been raking globally  #10 by 4icu.org, World universities ranking is #54, US Universities ranking is #37, American Best College ranking #47 in 2015, US News & World Report ranking #47, the QS ranking is #101, Times Magazine ranking is #75 and ARU ranking is #60.

Research of PSU:

PSU has been increasing budget for research base purpose and basically research and development issues. PSU is second largest university in US, which spends maximum expenditure for research and development purpose. PSU categorized 12 major fields and sub-fields including materials, psychology, mechanical engineering, sociology, electrical engineering, total engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, agricultural sciences, civil engineering, atmospheric science and earth science respectively.


Libraries of PSU:
PSU library is ranked as 14th largest library in USA and it has 5.2 million volumes, 5 million microforms, over 500,000 maps and about 180,000 videos and films.
